Tanja was born and raised on the island of Barbados. At the age of fourteen she chose accountancy as her profession and is now a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a budget guru with twenty-five years of experience in the corporate world.  

Her life as an expatriate began fifteen years ago and to date, she has lived and worked in five countries garnering a wealth of experience. She uses these real-life experiences and those from her solo trips across the world to over forty countries where she mostly engages in off-the-beaten-track type experiences in her writings.  

Ten years ago, Tanja began using her skills to assist individuals in their quest to better manage their monies and reach their financial goals through one-on-one coaching. An advocate and practitioner of debt free living, she guides individuals to the life they desire through smart financial choices.  

When Tanja is not speaking on financial matters or trekking around the world, she can be found gardening or learning a new skill as food security and self-sustainability are important to her. She believes the ability to tap into one’s talent is tantamount to writing a cheque for oneself.
